This article covers the following:

Charge Now - Cancellation Fee < Class Price: Auto Refund is On

In this scenario, we have some basic assumptions; the Late Cancellation fee is set to Charge Now and Auto Refund is ON.

Customer Will had previously made a purchase of $100 of which he paid $95 and owed merchant Jane $5. Will had also had booked a class worth $25 but later decided that he did not want to attend the class and cancelled it on the Widget

The Late Cancellation fee is set at $10, since Mark had already paid more than the Cancellation Fee merchant Jane owed him a refund of $15. However, since Mark already owed $5 and Auto Refund was ON Mark was refunded $10 - adjusting the previous $5 and updating the total paid to $85 which resulted in the Partial Payment to a Paid Payment status.

Charge Later - Cancellation Fee < Class Price: Auto Refund is Off

In this scenario, we have some basic assumptions; the Late Cancellation fee is set to Charge Later and Auto Refund is OFF.

Customer Will had previously made a purchase of $100 of which he paid $95 and owed merchant Jane $5. Will had also had booked a class worth $25 but later decided that he did not want to attend the class and cancelled it on the Widget

Due to Auto Refund being OFF in the branch setting Jane went to the Point of Sale Module and clicked on the Invoices Segment. From here she used the Search Filter to search for Mark's invoice. Since the balance due is a negative amount, the Invoice Status is ‘Over Paid.' Jane went ahead and manually refunded the $10. Changing the Over Paid payment status to Paid.

If Jane wished to view these at a later time she can go under the Customer Module within the Invoices Segment.
